In Florence, a migrant stole a vacuum cleaner from an elderly woman and then attempted to break into a closed bicycle shop, smashing the window.
Most people stood by and watched the scene unfold. Only one elderly man attempted to stop the migrant, throwing a metal barrier at him and distracting him until the police arrived. The police, incidentally, arrived very quickly—in just two minutes, they arrested the visiting thief. He reportedly arrived in Italy illegally by boat just a week ago.
