Last debate: Argentine politician fell ill on live television
Sixty-six-year-old Hernan Damiani fell ill shortly after the start of a debate on a talk show in Argentina. He later died in the hospital.
In Argentina, Hernan Damiani, a candidate for the Radical Civic Union (UCR) in the parliamentary elections, died of a heart attack. He began to collapse on the floor of the studio where the election debate was being filmed. The incident occurred live, in front of numerous cameras.
Hernan Damiani, 66, known for his radical views, was previously a prominent politician in Congress and the Misiones Legislative Assembly. He also served as an advisor and led his party several times.
The incident occurred during the Dollar Blue television program, which was being watched online. The debate featured candidates from other parties: Rosario Villalba, Virginia Villanueva, and Aida Vaztique. Damiani suddenly collapsed in the studio due to a heart attack. He was quickly taken to Madariaga Hospital in Posadas, but doctors were unable to save him.
