A married couple who died in a fire tried to at least save their cats

Trapped in the burning apartment, the unfortunate couple suffered smoke inhalation and later died on the way to the hospital. But the most heartbreaking thing for onlookers was that they didn't forget about their pets in such a terrifying moment.

Almost losing consciousness, the couple held their cats to the windows, so they wouldn't at least breathe in the fumes.

The couple reportedly owned 11 cats. Some were indeed saved, but others, sadly, shared the same fate as their owners. A preliminary investigation revealed that the fire may have been caused by the battery of a scooter, which was in the living room.
