Incredible footage from a drone: a four-meter shark ate a smaller fellow
In the United States, off the coast of Florida, a four-meter hammerhead shark ate a smaller shark alive. The sea predator did it right in front of the drone camera.
Photographer Marissa Weale managed to capture the incident on video, writes the Discover Wildlife website.
Weale noticed the turbulent water while filming the sea with a drone. At first, she thought there were dolphins splashing around there, and brought the drone closer. From a low altitude, her camera captured a characteristic shark fin moving above the surface of the water. In front of her was not a school of dolphins, but a single hammerhead shark of enormous size. According to the photographer, its length was from 3.5 to 4.2 meters.
The predatory fish was chasing its fellow, a Caribbean reef shark three times smaller than it. It took the hammerhead shark about a minute to tear off its tail. After that, it circled around its prey for several minutes before attacking again. This time the predator bit off her head.
