The leopard caught the jackal, who escaped and outwitted the predator

A wildlife enthusiast traveling through the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in South Africa two weeks ago witnessed a leopard hunting a sleeping jackal.

According to the tourist, the predatory cat stalked potential prey for 12 minutes.

Grabbing the jackal by the neck, the leopard dragged its victim up a tree and left it on a massive branch until better times.

But the jackal managed to outwit the formidable beast and escape by jumping from the tree.

The traveler captured a clearly confused and hungry leopard, which had to hunt down new prey.
