A man in Turkey suffered a heart attack after being struck in the chest by a ball during a soccer match, according to Need To Know.
On Thursday, March 26, 49-year-old Selahittin Atlı from the city of Kahramanmaraş was playing mini-football with friends. CCTV cameras on the court captured Atlı, who was standing in goal, blocking a ball with his chest. Moments later, he sank to his knees and lost consciousness.
Other players immediately rushed to his aid. An ambulance arrived shortly afterward. Medics restarted the man's heart and took him to the hospital, but he suffered another heart attack there. Ultimately, Atlı could not be saved.
According to the publication, the man was a well-known baker in the city.
