Dog miraculously survives attack by microcreditor who threw Molotov cocktail

A dog has miraculously survived being set ablaze by a Molotov cocktail thrown over the fence of a home in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.

The shocking act of terror occurred on March 25, days after the family's home was the target of several Molotov cocktail attacks.

It was also revealed that the loan sharks had left threatening notes demanding repayment for a loan that was never taken.

In one particularly chilling message, the attackers warned that "burning the dog" was just the beginning and that more severe measures would follow if their demands were not met.

"This is beyond anything we could have imagined. Our dog was innocent and this act of cruelty will never be forgotten. We just want this nightmare to end," the 63-year-old wife of the homeowner told local media.

According to media reports, it all started after Mr. Chen, the head of the family, provided his contact details to a man named Darren, who claimed to be involved in a legitimate lending operation.
The Malaysian came across an ad for the loan while working in Singapore.

On March 17, Mr. Chen received unsolicited funds transferred to his account, the total amount of which was 1,000 Malaysian renggit. When he tried to return the money, the lender refused to accept it and demanded additional payments, and also threatened to deal with his family if he did not comply with his demands.

It is also specified that Mr. Chen returned about 700 renggit and blocked Darren's number, but the harassment continued.

Despite the fact that local law enforcement agencies are aware of what is happening, the attacks on the man's home have not stopped and his family has recently been in constant fear.

Officials condemned the attackers' actions and called for tougher measures to protect families from such ruthless criminals.

Zhang Tianci, director of the Department of Public Service, urged the public to be wary of online lending scams, which often disguise themselves as legitimate operations but in reality involve extortion and violence.
